Sounds the same as our experience last year

Based on what data?

Clearly you are not rmsc. It’s the most selective.

I don't know how much distance was covered, but they were in the water for about 20 minutes. 8Us several years ago swam all 4 strokes and that was pretty much it, although even in that age group there was some attention paid to endurance (meaning more than one lap of free and back in a row). They were in the water or on deck for about 30 minutes. Coaches have names, make lists, and take notes. Some sites have a meeting for parents during the tryout time while the kids are in the water. You can request feedback (not justification, of course, but rather observations) if your DC does not get in by emailing the site coordinator.

We went to Olney and my friend’s kid went to KSAC. We compared notes and the tryout was very different. The same friend went to Rockville and it was more vigorous.

Rockville is seriously competitive.

I am the previous poster. Forgot to add that this was last year.

Depends on the site but my understanding is it would need to be a very talented person to walk into the team above minis (assuming no prior year round experience)

I've always heard it's harder to get in the older you get. Are there basically zero slots for Seniors (in the non-elite groups)?

Anyone else attending tonight or next week? What to expect for a first timer?
