Shane is a healthy part of having a society. It encourages compliance and being a part of the community, doing the right things to fit in rather than the wrong things to ostracized.

Vices should not be celebrated. We are more tolerant of them now than we used to be. But why is that a good thing?

Then why do people in Asia live so long while nearly all being skinny?

It won't. People shame for everything. Ive seen plenty of fit people shamed and plenty of skinny people shamed. People are just judgy jerks to anyone who doesn't look like them. The anonymity and ease of the internet have just made it all worse.
