If you attended the town hall at TWSB, Trinidad made it clear that there new policy would be no physical corrections...


I heard the opposite, that it's important to have them. There's a summary on the parent portal. We'll see what happens this year!

Aren't they closing? 2/3's,of their teachers left and most of the student base has bailed.

My experience was less then poor. The staff was underprepared and gossiping constantly. Very unprofessional attire while teaching. Not a good vibe at all.

My 14-year-old only started dancing a year ago, and has only been with Unity Dance and Movement (Cordell Avenue in Bethesda). The owner and teachers are laid back and nurturing, and there is a very low-key vibe. Since I'm still pretty new to the world of dance, I might not have the right read ... but it seems like Unity is a great home for students who love to dance, but aren't dreaming of turning professional.

My teen enjoys Metropolitan Ballet. Lots of personal attention. Good performances.

Studios hate when kids take classes at multiple places. It disrupts training and confuses the kids. Pick one and dive in. Call WSB and ask them the process. Stay away from CD at all costs. Training has become trash over the last 2 years.

What do you mean by newbies? Kids transferring from different studios?

OP here, also curious about process questions. Audition during the summer, then juggle studios for the first couple of weeks while deciding? Is that possible?

My high schooler wants to leave MYB, feels overlooked there. I know there are many parents of dancers on this board. Any advice on the actual process of switching, and any current insight into the different schools? Appreciate any advice. We are located in Montgomery County, and kid loves ballet (but doesn't want to dancer professionally, though I expect she'll continue to dance in college).
