I used a locksmith to make 2 copies of a chipped key plus a valet key. It was $500. Not sure the dealer would’ve been more. But I needed it *right now*. So there’s that.

X1000 I have them on my keys, dog and wallet. Saves my sanity.

Agree with pp, VIN and call a dealer

If you live near the dealership where you bought the car, you can have them look up the records for your car. I had to get a key made once (misplaced my key and spouse took their key with them on a business trip). I called the dealer, they looked up my sale record and forwarded the information to the service department who was able to make a copy of the key. I ubered over and picked it up. It expensive, but allowed me to use the car until I found my key (about 2 weeks later).

Yes a dealer or locksmith can order/cut keys based on VIN

however if its one of the chipped keys you may still need ot get it to the dealer so they can link up the keys to the vehicles PCM.

May be possible for a locksmith to do this as well. Just need to ask.

Be ready to be royally screwed on prices for this...

Call the dealer, ask if they have a key for your model, and, if they do have it tow your car to that location.

This. Have records, registration, insurance, a photo and VIN photo probably will help too.

They can look it up and cut one based on the VIN.

We’ve lost the only remaining keys for one of our cars. Any solution other than towing it to a dealership to have a new one made? Can a locksmith do this? It’s a 2018 Mazda fwiw…
