I've tried twice now to get my book club interested in The Measure and they just won't bite. I didn't think it was a particularly well-written book, but I thought the premise of it is super interesting and would make for great discussion. Just when you think you've thought of every possible scenario in which knowing how long you'll live could be used in your favor or against you, the book comes up with another new ethical quandary for you to mull over.

Everyone but Marcellus was shallow and annoying.

If your group like animals, I also enjoyed West with Giraffes. BTW, my book group enjoyed Remarkably Bright Creatures.

The Measure is definitely a conversation-provoking book if that's what you're going for. It's not great literature but it's an easy read and would be ripe for discussion.

I wanted to like it but found it to be very dumbed down.

I expected to find it too cutesy, but gave it a try and loved it.

Oh, it's cute enough! Not sure if it's "very stimulating," but it's clever and keeps you reading.
