Technically, Rockville is the 3rd smallest school in terms of the student population from the 22-23 data.

Same with the 23-24 data.
Poolesville 1332
Damascus 1398
Rockville 1539

As in every school, you have to look at the demographics. If your kid is white or Asian, they are probably doing well. Otherwise-- no. Rockville High School is no different.

What’s the definition of proficient? Is on grade level proficient?
My MS kid is getting As in math but is doing regular grade level math. I’d consider that proficient.

Had a kid who graduated from Rockville in 2010. His personal perspectives of the school back then was that it was a very tiny school, but it had a decent environment and many competitive teams. Too bad the school doesn’t seem to perform good on the sports compared to it’s rivals. However I will admit, the IB program in the school is great even for it’s small school size compared to it’s neighbors.

How utterly sad that an adult would take a dig like this.

Because we like it that way. We don't have any desire to be competitive like a W school and we like our little community just the way it is.

My kid just graduated from RHS, so definitely on my radar. Was very pleased with his experience. Had good friends who are really great kids, a solid peer group of kids working hard to excel, good teachers, IB and AP classes, opportunities for extracurriculars, including ‘nerdy’ ones where he and teammates more than held their own against bigger schools. All around a good experience.

Depends on your perspective I guess - we’re zoned for rockville so we don’t forget about it.

I feel like out of all the schools in MoCo, Rockville is easily the most forgettable in the county.
