Whatever your feelings about immigration, we have a lot of undocumented immigrants in this area. Do you think their vehicles are properly registered, licensed, and insured if they're undocumented?
My experience is that the only people who do that are Americans like my ex. No illegal immigrant puts themselves at risk of being caught. If any, they may drive someone else's car with a license abroad.
Years ago, I was rear ended by someone who I assume was illegal. He had a driver’s license on him, but it was clearly not his. The pic looked nothing like him, lol. He pleaded that we not call the cops. I agreed because it was a small fender bender. He gave me cash to get my bumper fixed and we went our separate ways.

They did not record that I turned in a set of plates on a car, so they said I owed over a thousand dollars in fines. I can't remwmber how I straighened that out. It was awhile ago.

They claimed $20,000 in medical bills, went to a doctor, and had all these tests done and treatment for things that were already wrong with them. I had a friend in my 20's try to do the same thing on my insurance. Minor fender bender and she wanted to take the car that hit us for the $30,000 maximum. Friendship ender. Another guy in 2015 tried to do the same, but our insurance compqnies found us both at fault. It is not just being on the hook for the car repair. People are jerks.
Oh, and in MD, your license and registration could be automatically suspended. So if she gets pulled over, she could get a crimjnal (not traffic ticket) and have her car impounded.
