So is Rutherford? Someone's got to do it.

Rutherford is a D16 pool. Do you really think they would even notice is ASR was cancelled? The ASRs really only matter to a fraction of NVSL pools. One of those pools should be hosting

it based on who WANTS to host and pools aren't exactly lining up to do so.

Other things they consider are parking and space for team areas.

IMO they should do like USA swimming meets and charge a fee per swimmer per event and give that to the host pool as a cash incentive.

This. They have to beg to get pools to host. It won't be postponed because the host pool barely has any teams and isn't going to give up their pool for another day and there isn't extra money to pay them to reconsider.

What is NVSL going to do for Rutherford and the heat? They should pay for misting stations or cooling spots. There is not a bit of shade there and the heat is at a dangerous level.

Have they ever canceled? Postponed?

“They should pay.” The NVSL is a volunteer-run entity that operates on a shoestring budget with limited sources of income (to include dues collected from each participating team) to cover existing expenses. It’s tough to balance the budget as is. Not sure where you think that money should come from, unless your team is willing to pay higher dues.

I posted above that I think teams should do like USA swimming and pay a entry fee per swimmer per event for ASR and IAS. It would only be something like $10 per swimmer, but could generate a nice amount of money for host pool and event extras.

They should have ambulances on standby - I forecast parents/officials passing out.

If it was Hamlet again they'd have to cancel. The team areas were on FCPS fields, which will almost certainty be closed. Rutherford is a public park (and their own land)

Hydrate. If you are sensitive to the heat there is the option of watching online.
