No.

A 9lb loss is not a “weight loss journey.”

Yes, eating 1750 calories a day can be reasonable, depending on other things. Make sure you think about sustainable meal habits so you don't bounce right back after your goal. Good luck!

FWIW, I found changing my snacks was most effective. No more crackers, pretzels, chips - instead carrots, cucumber, bell pepper, frozen banana slices, berries, stone fruits, popcorn, etc.

It's not that hard to cut 1700 calories. Sounds like OP was doing mindless snacking/huge portions/unhealthy meals.

You will feel hungry but remember to drink water, and it is mind over matter. Once on the lips, forever on the hips.

what? per week or 174.4 per day?

Not OP, but the math should be similar to as follows -

Previously s/he ate 2500 calories per day, now s/he is reducing that to 1744 per day, equating to 750 daily calorie deficit, equally 1.5 pound loss per week.

Damn I'd kill to lose 1.5 pounds a week at 1744 calories.

You can’t cut 1700+ cals per day. You’ll be starving. You may see rapid weight loss, but you’ll add it all back again in no time. Max you should be cutting 500 cals per day, which can be done through a combo of exercise and diet.

Me too. I am around 170 and want to get to 150 though so a bit of a longer road. That said, my main problem is just inconsistent eating/snacking so there is a lot of low hanging fruit in terms of cleaning up my diet.
