No tanning/use of tanning beds
Better keeping up with trends- no societal pressure to go with the short curls expected of married women of any age in the 1950s
More emphasis on skin care
Less drinking/alcoholism
Better dentistry and access to commercial teeth whitening
Nowadays, easier access and more affordable Botox and other treatments

No smoking, less sun, less booze, less kids.

They are by far and away fatter though. Gen Z will be the fattest generation in history.

I think it's hairstyles and clothing - people stick with the younger styles and then use make up and botox and gym memberships to stay fit and attractive.

Because you've gotten older, too! And you see your peers as younger because you see yourself as younger.

Also we all dress like children anymore Me, too! I'm 51 and wearing shorts and a t-shirt.

Exactly, women in Victorian times wore long dark dresses and hair up in a bun.

I watched On Golden Pond recently and was shocked that the characters were in their 60s (Katherine Hepburn) and 70s (Henry Fonda). Based on my current own family/friends aging, I would have guessed 80s and 90s. They looked and acted very old compared to people in their 60s/70s today.

Hairstyles and clothing styles have evolved a lot over the years which helps a lot.

We stay out of the sun and don't smoke.

Fewer people are smoking/exposed to second-hand smoke.

Everyone seems to be aging more slowly and their appearance is healthier and more youthful than past generations.
