What school? And agree, contact the main office. My kid went to Madison and there was an optional summer program in August when he was a freshman. You had to pay for it. The regular freshman orientation was a couple of hours the week before school started where they picked up their laptop, etc.

I have a rising freshman and we were given the dates. There is an open house in the late afternoon and back to school night on the same day, as well as a freshman orientation in the am. That is a couple days before the first day of school. But there’s also a half day you can do earlier in August.

When my older child was a freshman, her school did have a day set aside for an orientation but now it's a one or two hour thing that happens in the morning before regular open house. I'm not sure exactly sure what will happen in that time frame but as I have a rising freshman, I guess I'll find out.

I have a rising 9th grader (first one in HS) and haven’t heard anything about a freshmen orientation like they have for rising 7th graders in MS. Is that a thing or is it just a general open house for all students?
