I’ve had hit or miss luck with that list. NAMS still likes to say it’s all in your head and you just need therapy bc midlife is stressful and no mental symptoms are related. There are docs in that list that think it’s only hot flashes and women with no periods at all that need treatment.

Personally I think younger docs with more recent training are the best bet.

Seconding James Simon. Figure out your risk for breast cancer before starting HRT.

Dr. James Simon in DC. He’s dedicated much of his career to menopause. Expert in the field . I pay out of pocket BUT he will sit with you as long as you want and teach you about menopause, explain things in ways you can understand, you can pepper him with questions.

Any providers in the Kaiser network???

Carima Ryder at Takoma Park Gynecology. She doesn’t participate but does bill—the cost OON was not bad.

…that takes insurance? I have BCBS CareFirst. And would love recommendations. My older sister has had life-changing success with HRT and I’m hoping I can explore options that might result in at least a little, similar relief.
