What about a twin bed with a trundle bed? It's a little annoying to push in/pull out every night, but it would only be until the little one can safely use a bunkbed.

Falling on your head from 5’ is still a very bad idea.

Um, yea. LMAO. A rug pad?! For when the 2 year old falls off the top bunk of a bunk bed?

OP: right I didn’t think about the climbing aspect. I guess we wait.

2 year old is a girl btw! Not a daredevil but very active.

I think you stick with a twin and a crib/toddler bed for another couple of years, at least until you know the younger kid won't kill himself climbing on the furniture.

I think it's fine to move the 2-year-old to a twin bed but he probably won't be able to resist climbing up to the top bunk the second he's unsupervised. The risk of him falling out is high.

You have to make sure he can't climb up.

Moving my 2 and 7 year old into one room. A crib and twin bed could fit, but bunk beds would be ideal…

Am I crazy to consider bunk beds at this age? Little one would get the bottom with a rail, of course.
