PVT is a healthy, solid program. Few players jump ship. Highly recommend!

PVT is good, but agree with others that their practice schedules are a bit crazy with the 495 construction. They position themselves as being both a MD and VA team, and split practices across both states (depending on team).

It can take an hour to get across the 495 bridge for practices. We decided to focus on teams that were less logistically challenged. Its not the team's fault, but the 495 construction makes PVT fairly difficult on some days.

As for whether they play against Fairfax Stars or Team Durant, they do occasionally, but those are EYBL Nike teams that are always going to outcompete teams like PVT. They are comparative at the lower ages, but the Nike teams get better as you look at older teams.

Yes and no. As the teams get older, those teams will play more of a national schedule than PVT. In 7th, they will be in some of the same tournaments, but probably different brackets

PVT and proximity are not two things that normally go together. If you live in Bethesda, the Springfield practices are ridiculous. If you live in Springfield, the Bethesda practices are ridiculous

Where are you based? It sounds Maryland if you're considering Classics and GLP. PVT also practices in Virginia so make sure you know where the team you're trying out for practices. It's a lot of driving depending on where your coming from.

PVT fields two teams per grade. Typically their "top" team is competitive with excellent coaching. I think their B teams are hit or miss. Their rosters are capped at 10. Never seen an unusually big bench.

PVT and GLP seem better organized and we would love it if she makes the PVT team because of proximity.
