yessss - so true.
same with hotels. i'm constantly reading the fine print to find out how i'll be shaken down upon arrival. I really dont think our parents felt this way

I'm sick of eating out. It's an exercise in having to constantly be in the offensive because the restaurant tries to take its customers to the cleaners with no prices menus, service fees, etc. it's just not enjoyable.

It seems to be more common among very normally priced restaurants everywhere.
It's infuriating and pointless. I dont know what they're telegraphing. Like - you're not per se or the french laundry; random oyster bar in boston's back bay. prices matter.

Why do restaurants publish menus with no prices? What does this achieve?
