$3 to $5 is the minimum tip for me.

If an Uber driver talks to me, I rate them lower. I'm not here for a conversation or to make a friend. Just get me where I'm going as fast as possible while being quiet.

For a $6 ride, I'd have walked. But to answer your question, $2 tip.

If it's a long ride and they helped me with bags or something like that, I tip. If I go out to the burbs and he has to drive a bit closer to the city before he picks up another ride, I tip. I am not tipping $3 on a $12 ride where he went from one populated area of DC to another and has a ride queued up while I'm still in his car.
