I've been taking compounded semiglutide through Ivim since April. I'm 52, and put on about 40 pounds between covid and menopause, and despite eating well and exercising regularly, it would not come off. I'm 5'6" and I started at 190 pounds and now I'm at 178. I am thrilled with the results. My goal is 155. I do feel some nausea for a day and a half after my weekly shot, but it's not severe at all. I take magnesium to help with the constipation and I eat a lot of fiber. No headaches or other symptoms. I weighed the pros and cons re: using a compounding pharmacy and after speaking with the Ivim clinicians I felt comfortable. YMMV.

Every medicine has a scary list of possible side effects but as someone who has been on it for six months, mine were minimal.

But this medicine is not for you, as OP said - your BMI is not high enough.

Common side effects are nausea, constipation, diarrhea, headaches.

More serious side effects are pancreatitis, thyroid cancer and gallstones.

My doctor said she won't work with compounding pharmacies at all for safety reasons.

At any rate, if your BMI is 26, which is what yours is according to the height/weight you posted, you should not be on an obesity medication anyway. My guess is that that is why you are going with a compounding pharmacy? Because no legit doctor will give you a prescription for Wegovy? Or your insurance won't pay and you don't want to shell out the money for the actual medication?

Obesity is considered a chronic condition, and my doctor says it will be a lifelong medication. But ... you don't have obesity ... so.

You're only slightly overweight. No reputable doctor will prescribe it. An endo will tell you to eat less, stop drinking and exercise.

The compounded semaglutide market is like the Wild West. If you go that route make sure you know the landscape.

Sounds like questions for a doctor. See an endocrinologist.
