But its HER honest answer. They are about to embark on their journey.

Our DS wanted to go to college because he was so over high school and its drama. He wanted college to be different - no drama and he wanted to get a degree so he can earn "real" money.

So he can make enough money to not need to mooch off of me. He has a few older friends who dropped out and live at home (not their choice).

It's much easier than working.

Because they know the jobs they want require a college degree.

So that he can make money one day (also not thrilled with this answer).

Mine would prefer not to as he has a FT job he enjoys. But it's not a choice and he knows that.

I thought you were asking about a specific college they had in mind, but on re reading your question, you are asking about college overall? Mine would say something like, why would I NOT go to college?! (Ie how else can I get into a well paying job, have a career, Etc. probably also speaks to how we value education in the family and college was ALWAYS the plan).

Because it’s what you do. Graduate school, too.
