I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to date again. I don’t think I have thick enough skin for OLD and am old and not conventionally attractive, so it just seems futile. I’m okay being alone and I know it’s probably better for my kid, so I just have to make peace with it.

How about 5 years still no desire and I love it that way.

I too am dreading OLD after my pending divorce.
Are there any other places to meet quality middle age people? Is speed dating still a thing? Church groups? Other social events? Like how do I discreetly meet nice normal men(who didn’t cheat on their wife)?

You lucked out! A man who has not dated 2 years post-divorce wow. Take is as blessing. Its not even a gender thing to be honest. Anyone who has gone through a divorce and did some introspective thinking will take a long time to go back on the dating market. There are exceptions of course. For instance, I would totally understand an abused spouse who is divorced to want to be in a relationship sooner.

OP here glad I am not alone. Maybe I am just feeling this way because I got a new house, and when I don't have my kids, it feels lonely. I lived in a 1-bedroom apartment for 2 years so I could save to be able to buy a house again.

I guess I will just let it happen organically. I will trust my gut instinct and not rush because I will be disappointed because any woman will quickly pick up on my lack of enthusiasm and don't want that to happen if I match with a great woman.

I've been divorced 4 years. I am completely done with dating (woman here). I tried, it sucks. Not worth my time or energy. I would never ever remarry or live with someone ever again.

I'm in a similar position, but widowed (not divorced), and I'm a woman. I absolutely do not want to OLD, so I'm focusing on ramping up my social life in general. Hopefully, I will meet someone through shared interests or mutual friends, but I have no interest in dating just to date.

Why do you care about others? You sound happy and stable.

That said...I was on Hinge last year. I don't remember it being that exhausting to make a profile.

Is it normal not to feel any desire to date 2 years post divorce? Indo want to date but I don't feel any enthusiasm. I did therapy for 1 year. My testosterone levels which I thought could be an issue turned to be great at 45.

I have just been focusing on my hobbies, diet, fitness, career, kids and occasional outings with friends. In a way I feel great I am happy, my income double since my divorce, just closed on a house.

Every time I am ready to start an OLD profile I just give up halfway and go back to something else.

How long did it take you to feel like you were ready to date post divorce?
