Do you know what a tattoo is? It's an ink-colored scar.

A normal tattoo does not scar. Branding (like Black fraternities do) uses scar to make the image, and usually isn't colored with ink.

I am the PP and I also replied to the other post about Dollistic which is where I had a bad tech who got fired. It is a tattoo hence the laser to remove the faded color. I would seriously consider not doing it. As I said trends keep changing. I wish I had the affordable access to the brow and lasers they provide in Seoul but alas the US costs ways too much and not enough volume for the techs to be as skilled.

Before someone else jumps all over me it’s like a tattoo bc ink get deposited but not like traditional tattoos. The point is it fades and you can’t always predict the color as it does and if you don’t get touch ups you could get stuck.

I have never seen it look natural and it’s not easy to undo.

afaik, microblading is more crude, less precise, and more likely to scar or get infected. It also doesn't last very long. I'm very pale blonde with almost invisible eyebrows and I got ombre powder brows, which do include some hair strokes at the front and then more of a subtle shading for the rest. I absolutely love it and would highly recommend it.

I had it done a number of year back in DC and paid a lot. They fired the person who did mine a bit after that. So you need to make sure the place where you get the reviews isn’t assigning you a person who doesn’t know how to do it well. It turned out ok for a while and then did fade to a brownish red after some years. Somewhat noticeable. I was able to remove a lot of it through laser when I was in Seoul. Lasers are relatively affordable over there. They warn you that you can lose some hair after the laser. I did but it did grow back. I probably need at least one more round but not sure I will do it when I go back to Korea this summer. For what I’ve heard the blading has gotten a lot better than when I did mine 6 plus years ago. But that may be in Korea. Won’t do blading in the near future. Plus the more natural brow look is in for Koreans so leaving it alone for now. That might why the person you spoke to is saying to do shading. Things are cyclical in terms of trends.

The drawback I hear is that eventually the ink can fade and change its tone…often to a slightly more reddish color. That may not blend well with your skin tone and you are stuck with it.

Considering microblading my eyebrows and the woman at the place keeps telling me microblading is bad and is instead pushing shading them but I’m not into that look. I want the results to look like real hairs.

I decided not to do anything for now until I get to ground truth on this.

What’s her logic?
