Snow in Montreal is unlikely. Tremblant being open is possible. You can look up historical opening dates.

I live in Vermont and last November skied the weekend before thanksgiving.

We read online that the mountains- mount tremblant etc open for the season in late November. Is this true? Has anyone visited the area for skiing/tubing?

I was in Montreal in late December and it was cold as could be.

I absolutely loved it. The city is so vibrant, and has such a creative vibe. Even in the darkness of winter. I liked it so much I could live there. We paired it with a trip to Quebec City where we stayed at the Chateau Frontenac. Three days in Montreal and two in Quebec City was enough for us. But an extra day or so in each location would have been good as well.

I don’t think snow is likely in Nov. I was there in December and they hadn’t had snow yet. It could be cold, or pleasant. It will be dark.

I was just there and couldn’t believe how different the city looked in June compared to December: so much less gloomy, so much street life.

We've been to Montreal in January a few times and had a fabulous time. The entire city is built to function in poor weather with lots of things underground. The botanical garden in particular is fun to do when it's cold outside. We happily spent 4-5 days each time and never left the city. The Club Med website for Laurentian mountains can give you an idea of things to do there.

Never been. Looking to take advantage of the exchange rate but want to visit in Oct/Nov during shoulder season. We are leaning towards November to get a chance at snow.

How many days would you spend in Montreal? What small towns surrounding Montreal should we consider?
