THANK YOU. Can we get to the bottom of this? What are the white striations? How can we end this abomination?

I don’t know why the striations are related, but the chicken is woody in chickens that have been bred to grow unusually fast/large. It has something to do with the muscles in the chicken breast. I will say that almost all of our woody breasts have been from Giant.

It’s awful. Tough, stringy, hard to chew. A truly despicable texture.

+1
I have a visceral reaction to it in my teeth right now just remembering it.

Ive never had woody chicken but that does sound gross. Costco is usually so good!

Exactly what it sounds like. The meat is tough and hard, almost crunchy. It is vile.

Not OP, but Costco rotisserie is usually pretty good. It’s $5 because it’s a loss leader that gets people in the stores.

I’m still reeling from how revolting it was.

oh woody chicken is the worst. I thought it was just plaguing the fresh super plumped up fake breasts. Not the smaller rotisserie chickens pumped with salt. It's the worst. I would rather have them invent a really good veggie chicken than ever encounter woody chicken again.

Ugh, what a waste of $5. This was the worst chicken I’ve ever had in my life. It’s so tough and woody, I can’t even tear the white meat from the bird. I may never eat chicken again.

I had one last week that was tender and delicious, did I just get a frankem roided out broiler?

I want to return it, but I know that’s ridiculous and annoying. But the lingering texture … blurg.
