Subject: 2 night layover with hyperactive 5 yo DS. Dubai or Tokyo? also London or Istanbul
Dubai is incredibly kid friendly and most things are indoors because of the year round heat and sun.

I would say Istanbul is most tolerant of kids being kids. They other ones are very quiet places and would not tolerate it. But if you are going straight from airport to hotel you have more choices.

Pick whatever gives you the best/cheapest flights and timings. It won’t matter—your going to be zonked.

If your kid is hyperactive, then don't put them in a situation where they will be hyperactive & people will judge you poorly. C'mon. Parent up.

August. Flying home from SE Asia. Want to stop to give everyone a break from a 14 hour flight. Will be traveling with one older family member who needs that break.
Dubai: Too hot to be outside but plenty of indoor playground activities and 5 yo will think the skyline is cool. The airport is built for quick in and out. Hotels are cheap because it is off season. Time zone change will be significant.
Tokyo: Lots to see and do that we won't be able to take advantage of I think. I worry our kid will get lots of stares for his awful manners. Expensive hotels.
London: Again lots to see and do that we won't be able to take advantage of. Weather similar to US NE? Expensive hotels.
Istanbul: Probably very hot. I think the airport is too far from the main city area. Apparently people there loves kids. That creeps me out a bit.
