Subject: Swim team events
In NVSL-
Divisionals- each team in the division gets to select 2 swimmers for each event (Free, back, breast, fly, IM) . Swimmers can only swim 2 events total so if a kid has their teams top times in all 5 events they discuss with the coach and get to choose with 2 events they want to swim.
Divisional times are what are used to determine who swims at All Stars. All stars- tops 18 times from all teams in all divisions get to swim.
Divisionals and All stars are Individual events as they are not scored/don't go into determining who wins the division.

In the CSL divisionals, the coach can choose top 3 swimmers for each event. All teams from the division participate in the meet. Top 18 for each event (from divisional times) in the entire league (all divisions) go to all-stars. The CSL Includes IM As an event at divisional and all-stars, but not all leagues do.
An A meet is a scored meet between two teams in the same division.
A B meet is a developmental meet (non scored meet) between any two teams in the league.

Divisionals will have some swimmers from every team (in MCSL it's top 2 for each event). But not every team has swimmers who qualify for the individual all-star meet. Just having an all-star event time isn't enough: you need to be in the top sector of that all-star list to have a shot at making the meet. YMMV on how large that sector needs to be, because of event limits, travel conflicts, and scratches.
