I actually read that hand washed or dishwasher bottle babies had better immune systems. Boiling should only be used for immuno compromised babies.

So your answer is use dishwasher I’m grossed out just thinking of hand washing and yes if I can avoid it I do and run my dishes at least 3 times a day.

If she’s handwashing she should be soaking in a special basin in the sink dedicated to pump parts, not letting it touch the dirty sink.

OP here. I personally think it’s unhygienic and gross to mix it with food particles and stuff. That’s a pass for us.

Do you have OCD? Please explain what you think will happen if you put bottles in your dishwasher. Ie, is there something grounded in fact/reality you can point to? Being a parent gets very exhausting if you give into every unfounded, irrational fear!

How is using a dishwasher not hygienic?

Does your dishwasher have a sanitize cycle? Just use that. (Also, the Baby Brezza is fine if you refuse.)

Nothing is going to happen using a dishwasher.

Will the water be as hot as your dishwasher? They use hot and heat it to a sanitary temp during the cycle.

I do a mix of nursing and bottles but it looks like I will be pumping from now on. I hate washing bottles and pump parts and know that it is only going to get worse as I use more. I’m not a fan of putting bottles and pump parts in the dishwasher for sanitary reasons. I’ve looked at the Baby Brezza washer but it has bad reviews. I’m now considering buying a counterop dishwasher solely for bottles and pump parts. Am I being ridiculous?
