agree-- I did it. Always stressed about the trip home. It's hard to focus on work when you're like, should I leave at 3pm or 8pm today?

It is a pretty drive...but mind numbing if you get stuck behind a semi or someone who maybe gets up to 35 on the straight bits.

I did this when I was young(er). As long as you are OK being able to spend a significant amount of your time on the beltway/270, consider this.

As close as possible to the American Legion Bridge. Also, be aware that the main road between the bridge and Reston is a private pay per use road and it's something like $5.00 a trip - which can add up quickly.

Why would you want to live in MD and pay the higher taxes and deal with a commute to Reston? Just move to VA already.

Really nothing, everything is going to cause traffic nightmares.

I say the communities along the beltway from the American Legion Bridge to the 270 spur, then up 270 to Rockville. Then you can get to Reston via the Dulles toll road while avoiding Tysons. Anything further than that will be a traffic nightmare.
