I agree OP, it's nuts. I'd rather spend another $2-3 and get a beer.

We used to buy sodas as a treat, but not anymore. They’re expensive and we are a water only table now.

Agree too high but why do this to yourself? Either don't go or buy what you want. This kind of halfway stuff is stupid.

Welcome to the middle class, we sometimes go out to restaurants without buying every appetizer, drink, and dessert we want.

I don’t drink or purchase soda, but someone posted the price of a 2 liter bottle and it was pretty $$.

I mostly don't go. Everything is cheaper and tastes better at home.

Drinks have always been the stupid tax at restaurants.

Yes, soft drinks have been a ripoff for decades. And, you are right! When you multiply the drink across a family, it’s easily $20 or so, just on drinks.

I alway drink water at restaurants. Drinks are the biggest rip off. That’s almost $20 for drinks. That’s not even alcohol.

I think around $4 is pretty standard now - I would not be surprised to see $4.75, but it is a rip off.

I’m just curious if anyone else has seen such high prices on soft drinks at a restaurant outside a sports game or airport. We were a party of 4 and spending $19 on soda hurt.
