Look at the Jesuit schools (beyond Georgetown and BC). Loyola in New Orleans, Xavier in Cincinnati, Marquette in Milwaukee, St. Joe’s in Philly, etc. Typically generous with merit aid, usually lots of supports available if students need them.

Consider some of the schools in the south such as Ole Miss, Mississippi State and possibly Alabama. Maybe Elon, though I think the school is becoming more competitive.if full pay, may be able to squeak in with strong essays. Definitely Mary Washington and Longwood.

We will be looking at UNC-Wilmington and Univ Dayton (might get merit there). Also MIami of Ohio.

My rising senior has lower stats. Obviously can't speak to how successful but will be applying to at least: ECU, WVU, ODU and Coastal. $60k/yr, you could afford nearly every OOS public.
With a budget of $60k/yr you could certainly include some mid tier privates

Longwood and CNU are good for this type of student. VCU is not.

I would look at Longwood, Old Dominion, UMW, Radford, and VCU but keep in mind that some popular majors typically require a higher gpa. GMU engineering, comp sci, Schar school, etc. are getting more competitive. UVA, VT, W&M, and JMU would be unlikely. Maybe consider UVa Wise to C’ville option?
