I just got a great job at 47. WFH, so I’m still accessible to my teens all day. Plenty of time for working out and sleep. I feel really grateful.

The entire accounting department where I work is over 40 from AP clerk to CFO. We are very productive because we've all been working a long time and are just trying to finish our work and log off.

Yep, because there are enough C-suite level positions for the entire 40+ workforce. Great solution! Why didn't I think of that? Oh, wait, it's because it's as ludicrous as saying "just be super wealthy and all your money trouble goes away". Well, if everyone was, then no one is.

Really? I think I'm mistreated because I'm a 40+ mother in a male dominated field where all the men have SAHWs. The mentality is the I should be home with my kids my household doesn't deserve my income.
Defense? That happened to me. Until I became a VP. Then suddenly everyone was all smiles and all ears.

I totally agree with you!!!!!
Wholeheartedly, I see the layoffs coming for the 40+ crowd. Most of them never find employment or have to take major paucity just to get the benefits. Other posters here are young or just lucky.

If you wait until your late 30s or early 40s to have kids, then yes, all of that is quite difficult to do simultaneously. If you have them earlier, it’s much easier.
