What standard kid lunches aren’t nut free except for peanut butter and jelly? I can’t think of any.

What do they usually eat for school lunch other than peanut butter?

Sun butter sandwich, turkey sandwich, cheese sandwich, cream cheese bagel. Thermos with pasta, chicken nuggets, soup. Snacky containers with combinations of cheese, meat, crackers, fruit, veg, crunchy chick peas, hummus, hard boiled eggs, yogurt.

We do sunbutter and jelly a lot or turkey/cheese.
DD also likes cinnamon bread so I’ll do that in place if a sandwich now and again with just butter on it.
In a Thermos which we do twice a week she likes chicken nuggets, Mac n cheese balls, rice and beans or lentil soup.

All of the above with fruit or veg, and some other form of chip or popcorn or similar.

Does it have to be disposable? Can you include an ice pack?

I bought a bowl-shaped thermos and packed hot leftovers for my son; sometimes I'll pick up sushi and pack that.

My college kid, who is anaphylactically allergic to certain nuts and treenuts, ate sandwiches or dinner leftovers (meat/carb/veggies) all throughout K-12, and brings those to eat for his current summer job. As snacks he has chips, fruit or those dried meat sticks.

Sandwiches need butter to stop them from getting soggy. Everything is packed in an insulated lunch bag, and if it's not kept in an air conditioned area, then he adds an ice pack.

I just asked my kid. Her favorites were the BLTs I packed. Instead of mayo I used that thick flavored cream cheese (aloutte or something?) and that kept the tomato from getting to the bread.

She also liked ham and cheese rollups with spicy mustard.

There's a brand called the Amazing Chickpea that does a peanut butter dupe my kid likes better than sunbutter.

Do they also ban sesame? If not hummus and pita. We also do quesadillas and cheese sandwiches. There's always lunch meat sandwiches as well.
