I make them ( I am a watercolorist- the small illustrated item is frameable or they can toss it) or I send ecards, from various places. Yes, there's a yearly fee, but it is very reasonable to send a bunch of really good and personalized ecards this way. I really hate buying greeting cards because it is a waste of real money ( they aren't cheap)and they are thrown out immediately, it is a contrived sentiment, and waste of resources.

I get the box of cards at Costco--I think last time it was something like $12 for 30? Generally there are good birthday cards and blank cards to use for lots of occasions. I still do the occasional card purchase for special events or special people, generally at Safeway since I'm there a lot.

Why are so many greeting cards offensive.

It's like, "Happy Birthday you old b**ch!"

And all the ones for husband are like, "You fart too much, but you're not so bad!"

Thank you - this is a great idea! I have been buying gift bags and tissue paper at Ross over the last year and it's MUCH cheaper. I should check for greeting cards too!

Hallmark stores have some $1 and $2 cards that are very useable and not cheap looking at all. They don’t have all the bells and whistles but they mail a lot better if you’re mailing a card … I’ve had the cards that require extra postage get stuck in the automated machines and come out all shredded.

OP here. Yeah, I used to buy those all the time, and even go to a Papyrus shop near work. It's closed now, and I only buy that brand for the one person I know really likes them. They're just so expensive!

The Dollar Tree - really. They are Hallmark cards, just at a reasonable price. Even making them and printing at home is more expensive.

Lately I have been making them on Greetings Island and printing at home. There are some cute ones available for free. I print on cardstock and cut it down to size.

If I'm going to buy a card, I find Target has a good selection.

I picked what looks like a simple Father’s Day card and it was $4. Greeting cards have really gone up in price. I try to buy them from Trader Joe’s where they are $1, but they don’t have the biggest selection. Papyrus used to be $4-5, and those are really nice, but too expensive these days. Where are you buying your greeting cards from and how much do they cost?
