Yep, this has happened to me a few times too.

I had my clock re-start twice at the 11th month mark. Then a couple of additional mini surprises after menopause. My OB brought me in for testing the first time it happened (uterine biopsy and u/s). Be in contact with your OB is my advice and if they offer ibuprofen before a uterine biopsy….take it! I thought it would be like a Pap smear but it hurt a ton!

This happened to me this year. 6+ months of nothing and then a couple big cycles. I’m feeling PMSy now so maybe a third.

It’s common to have to restart the clock before a year is up. You were not officially in menopause yet.

No way to know, sorry! I would expect more random periods - but I was younger than you when I entered menopause.

Age 57, no period 6 mo the (thought yay! Finally menopause), then this month PMS, tender breasts and heavy horrible period. Is this what they call a flash period? Last period.
I have a wedding overseas in exactly a month—so I started bcp today (had some leftover for heavy cycles last year—had not reached menopause per OGYYN testing) phone visit with obgyn Tues to ask questions). I just want this (periods) to be done.

Will I get one more period or might this have been a flash period? I thought I was in the clear but not a full year yet. I cannot risk a heavy period next month.
