Really? Our school does let the older one take the younger one as long as I gave a note. This started when oldest was 5th and youngest was 2nd

Kids have to be “older than first grade” or “older than 6” according to APS website.

Mine started in second grade — BUT our bus stop has about 20 kids and it’s hard to tell if the parent is there or not. And my kid is one of the tallest in her grade.

3RD GRADE, but my 3rd grader was denied multiple times when there was a substitute bus driver because he can't really prove his age. I did eventually leave a note in his backpack giving my permission.

When my kid was held back and not let off the bus I called the school and they called transportation and let them know of their policy.

I believe it is 3rd grade, but I don't know where that is stated. I'd start by asking your school's front office.

Hi, at what age can kids walk home from the bus stop solo (we’re in Arlington if that matters). It’s two blocks on a residential street and we’d be home when they arrive. What do I have to do to make sure they are released to walk independently? Right now our bus monitor seems to check for parental release even for older kids. Do I tell the school who tells the bus? Thanks.
