Veteran Dance mom here. Op, you are thinking about this all wrong.

1. You are super lucky to have the option, but, if money is an issue skip it. If you have the funds it's not to be missed.

2. If you are on Dance Team you may have other opportunities. If not, then this may be your only shot. It is truly unusual to have an open invitation. .

3. This is not a vacation. It is an investment in your child. You are resume and skill building.

4. If you want to enjoy the parks, enjoy the parks. The event team won't let you anywhere near rehearsals or backstage. Go a day early or stay a couple days after to vacation.

5. You will love seeing your kid on stage. You might have more fun than the kids have on stage; but, do not make it about you. I've never regretted doing anything like this for my kids.

Wait, OP, do you usually sit through your kids rehearsals? NO, you do your thing and then watch the show. NO, you do not sit around waiting at rehearsals. No.

Wow! The studio opened it up to anyone. Good for you. The organizers must really trust the Director. Good for you for finding a great studio. There is a lot of junk around.

I am a former dancer and teacher. It is usually a big deal for the kids. They have an amazing time. It is very much a performance/performer focused trip. This is not your typical wander the parks all day Disney trip. You will, on the other had, be giving your kid a foundational memory and experience.

Your time will be as active or downtime focused as you want. You dancer will have call times, usually early in the morning for a late morning, early afternoon performance and then be free.

It is a big deal and you will have awesome pictures.

The kids will go off and rehearse or perform for a couple hours. You will not sit around. You will do your own thing, rides, meals, whatever and meet up to watch the performance. The kids will be dismissed to jin you however you see fit after. We had a great time when we did this with my now college age kid pre-covid. It has probably become more expensive...everything has...only you can decide what is worth it to you.

Op, you are unlikely to get a lot of feedback because your opportunity is so rare.

It is so much fun for the kiddos. Especially if it is a huge event with lots of studios involved. You must be at a pretty special place for them to be bringing the whole crew. That doesn't happen very often. Congratulations on the invitation. Don't go broke on it. But, if I could swing it, I would do it again.

If your studio got the blanket invite to bring anyone, you must be at a really well regarded studio. I have taken my kids to events like this and they are a ton of fun. It is a good experience for the kids. Definitely, not a ride focus family trip. Worth it for us but you do you.

My daughter's dance studio is scheduled to perform at Disneyworld. This is not exclusively for the dance team and does not require tryouts. It's optional but we're trying to determine if its worth the thousands of dollars in travel for the experience.

Are there any stories about similar Disneyworld performance experience? Do you get to enjoy the parks at all? Or is it all sitting around for rehearsals and performances? TIA!
