Unrelated to YY, if bolded is true, get out of DC while you still can! The school you think is right for K may not be right for your kid or your family. The right MS for your kid may not be the feeder. You may try for Latin or BASIS and not get in. Then there's HS; no one has any idea what that will look like in 9 years. School in DC is to embrace the unknown.

I realize YY had 26 K openings for this coming year, but I'm puzzled as to why the waitlist moved so fast -- why are so many people declining an offer?
