The OBGYN was my most important doctor during my childbearing years, not my teen years. If your DD doesn’t have any issues, there’s no reason to seek out an OBGYN. One could argue there’s no need to seek out specialized care, such as an oncologist, until there’s a current need…not, “oh I may need an oncologist someday, so I should find one and start a relationship now so I’m comfortable later.” That’s a waste of everyone’s time and money.

This is either the 3rd or 4th thread on this topic this year and they eventually get hijacked by an anti gyno troll. PP writes exactly like one of those previous trolls that insists non sexually active women do not need to go to the gyno, they fear monger re women going to get female health care and Pap smears, etc. These narratives discourage women from making informed decisions and seek appropriate medical care. TAKE YOUR BS TO REDDIT or QANON sites. Not here again.

This thread should be closed and you can just go to one of the other ones like

She should start going when she's a teen. This will be here most important doc, especially as she ages out of the pediatritian. Don't fear going. There arent any internal exams until appropiate/necessary.

Yeah wait until the benign polyp gets big and bleeds and she is hysterical and thinks she is dying

I do not see what is so awful about a speculum. But I guess these are people who never get colonoscopies until they have Stage 4.

NOT THIS AGAIN.

There have been several threads on this already and they were taken over by weird, fear mongering anti gyno trolls.

If vaccinated for hpv before 19, they may only need cervical cancer screening every 25 years. Lucky them! No awful annual exam.

When did your not sexually active daughter first go to a gyn? Is that something I should encourage before going to college or at a particular age?
