There are two Tremblants - the base of the ski area and the original town of Mont Tremblant. I have primarily stayed at the ski area base (pedestrian village) which is very nice and lots of lodging options. There are also houses all around the area and we've stayed in those a couple of times as well. I have only been to Mont Tremblant town in winter for dinner. I would stay at the ski area base because it is the most lively and on the lake. I believe the gondola and/or one of the chairlifts is open in summer - I've been on them in the fall before ski season - which is a nice way to get to the top without hiking.

But really depends what vibe you are looking for - if you want a secluded cabin, Tremblant isn't it. I stayed this past winter at Ermitage du Lac, which was a nice suite hotel. We had a very nice one bedroom with a view of the lake. I've stayed at most of the Suites Tremblant properties and they are all nice. The Fairmont is lovely but is more hotel than family suites. Several of the properties have outdoor pools.

Tremblant would be perfect. Cute town, lake, easy hikes on the ski slopes, lots of hotels have kitchenettes/bedrooms. 1.5 hours from Montreal.

We are going to Montreal this summer (August) and want to spend about 4-5 days outside the city, up to 2 hour drive. (We’ve done QC/Charlevoix before so not that way!) We were thinking Mont-Tremblant or maybe a little lake town.

We loved the driving route in Charlevoix and wanted to know if anyone knows of anything similar-ish closer outside Montreal. We’re not big campers or hikers but are interested in cabins or airbnbs that are in or near walkable towns, good food, maybe a tiny bit of hiking (kids are all under 5), pretty lakes, etc.

We’ve done no planning in this area so are open to anything! Suggestions on towns, airbnbs, lakes, etc most appreciated!
