I think ABGC is only $500/year. Some of those kids are ridiculously good and could be playing on top teams at more expensive clubs.

Look into DC Scores, DC Football Club. There are no fees. My DD has been with them for 3-4 years now. Top quality coaching, mentorship and challenging competition. Several out of town tournaments every year, but not every weekend. DS also plays on her school team. DCFC team members live mainly in NWDC where almost all of the practices are held. There are no income restrictions.

Arlington had financial aid structures of up to 60% off depend on your income I believe. Any club can sponsor a player for free if they really want to with you paying for the traveling expenses.

This is a lot of cost to absorb for a youth soccer team for a blue collar worker..
Curious if you would be interested in a smaller club that plays only 1 tournament a year, with a club fee of $1500 and only two practices a week instead of the usual three. I'm speaking hypothetically. I'm wondering if a market exists for a club with a leaner budget, and with fewer bells and whistles.

Next year, try Sand Soccer in Virginia Beach! Only $450 per night in a 2 star motel (for 3 nights!)

SYC calls it financial aids. We have several families who are leaving because they were promised financial aids and never delivered.

Yes, there are clubs that offer discounts if they want your kid and the family can provide income statement to show they meet the club's financial requirements (income less than 'X')
What's funny is, I've heard of people who live in well-to-do neighborhoods and houses who have to negotiate payment terms

Our club has a huge low income discount. (I think you qualify ff your child is eligible to receive free school lunch.) I think you just need to show proof at registration. Im not sure if they have a limit to these slots, but I'd say 30% of the team has a low income discount. It has nothing to do with talent or ability. It is not a scholarship either. The regular rate for U10-U9 is $2100 and the low income rate is about $400 for the year.

No not really unless your kid is amazing. They are 'non-profit' businesses in tax purposes only. Every club is in the business of making money and unless they'll get a return on their investment with your kid don't hold your breath, sorry.

Every club has a scholarship program you can apply to. You will most likely still have to pay for travel cost and uniforms, but they can waive some of your club fees.
