I am so sorry 21:27. What type of cancer? What type of HRT (patch, pill, gel)?

My doc just put me on the patch and took me off of BC. My insurance hasn't approved it, so I am waiting. Will let you know how it goes once I finally get it next week!

73. Menopausal since 57. HRT age 60-71. Cancer 71.

Even my an#s is dry and painful.

She is willing to put me on a patch and pill or cream and pill regiment. It’s all HRT correct? It’s just that the actual birth control pill can increase risk of stroke so it’s not often given 50 and up. I’m turning 50 over the summer. Omg I had a bad reaction to Yasmin when I was early 20s. Like others have said you should be on a much lower dose

I am on the BCP (age 48) and I always had terrible headaches that coincided with my period. My doctor suggested taking the pill continuously and it worked! No more headaches. I wish I listened sooner.

Take HRT. It has far less hormones than BC. What does your doctor say about it?

I’m almost 50 and was prescribed a BCP I was on in younger years to help with symptoms (mood, sleep, fatigue, pretty intense breast and pelvic soreness, muscle aches, some vestibular issues but no hot flashes, hair issues). Unfortunately over the time I was on the pill - about 6 months - while everything got better, I developed intense back of the head headaches coinciding with my period. Gyn is regarded as a menopause expert, feared stroke risk, advised me to stop taking anything, and clocking symptoms again.

I’ve been off the pill for nearly 2 months and while the headaches went away, which is great, all prior symptoms returned. Has anyone experienced this? I plan to ask for an estrogen patch and progesterone pill plan. I feel miserable and just wanted to see what others have experienced in finding some solutions to symptoms that make you feel bad, thanks.
