From what I can tell, this is not evidence based. The American Association of Anesthesiologists guidelines are to stop water 2 hrs before a procedure, not 9.
It’s not and it’s silly. So many women are unfortunately willing to go along with things and won’t push back. No drinking water for 13 hours? But those are the rules!
