I was just thinking about this today, as my friend's mother had her planned death today. (We live in Canada, and she applied for MAID). I think if it was me, I would want to plan my day enjoying certain things with certain people. But when it was time, I would ask everyone to leave, and I'd go to sleep alone.

It does mean the actual moment of death. But no one is forcing themselves on people who want to be alone.

I’m truly curious to understand why you’d rather be with a total stranger at death than just with yourself, the person in the world who knows and loves you best.
