I think a previous poster meant 14/16 is *not* unusually large.

European women disagree and happily wear linen in the hot summer months.

I finally gave away all of my linen. I just can't. Not anymore. I love the idea of linen but I'm so over the wrinkling.

I wear it to stay cool, not to look polished.

Tennis dresses are cool, look better, are more flattering, meant for the heat, are acceptable anywhere linen can be worn, and you sweat in them. There are plenty of better options.

No one, including skinny people, looks good in linen.

Rumples add volume so if you're going to wear it, I guess style it the same way you would something voluminous, e.g., pair with a more shaped top.

+2

It’s not a tidy look

IMO only extremely thin people can pull off linen the way it’s “meant” to be worn

But I don’t think it looks that good in any case

Why does anyone still wear this? So many better flattering fabrics.

OP

I live in Florida and I wear linen all of the time. IT is the coolest fabric in the summer. I'm comfy in my linen shorts but I'm hot in my cotton/poly shorts. I usually wear my linen shorts around the house and my linen dresses when I go out but I am in my 60's.

In size 14-16 I'd say go for it.

I do find linen dresses more forgiving and flattering.

Linen looks good on no one. I realize DCUM thinks it’s the height of fashion but nothing looks sloppier, no matter your physique. It’s a trend I hope dies a quick death.

Linens and the style of wrinkly apparel and keeping a neat appearance with it as a plus woman - size 14/16.

Items I like are the JCrew Linen tropez shorts that are quite popular or the line of pants with that material. But on my body shape and type, how can I pull these off?
