Snack on

Really?

NP My kids are the same at the pool- they don’t want anything big, but want something to eat at every adult swim.

The prepared food section is your friend.

Does your pool have a grill?

I mean, it does. But we usually bring lunch or dinner if we’re going to have lunch or dinner there. Just the whole vibe of kids constantly “picking” and “snacking on” is gross. You properly wash your hands, you have a meal or ONE snack, that’s pool time. I’m picturing them grabbing handfuls of pretzels and getting the bag wet with dirty, chlorinated water. Gross.

NP. If your kids can’t dry off their hands before grabbing a handful of snacks, that’s a you problem.

Hummus, pita, cut veggies.

Cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches.

Cheese, crackers, fruit, nuts, etc. Charcuterie type stuff.

Why can’t you just make a ham and cheese sandwich? It takes 2 minutes.

“Snacks-y”?

What you are saying is you don’t want to prepare lunch and you only want to bring snacks. So stop trying to pretend you are providing your children with lunch, and just be honest and pack snack crap.

Hummus with prepacks with pita
Prepared cut up carrots & veggies.
Hard boiled eggs already cooked

I don't understand why you just don't go to your local grocery store to the prepared food isles and pick what your family will eat?

If this is that hard for you to make sandwiches etc a head of time go to Jersey mikes or something LOL

Store bought pasta salad.

Those individual pre-made salads and wraps from the grocery store (Costco has nice platters, but those feed a big crowd).

Pre-cut fruit + yogurt + croissants.

Pre-made grilled chicken strips and store bought potato salad.

Tortilla chips and seven layer dip.

A cold bucket of fried chicken.

Obviously you’d save money making some of this on your own (and it may be better than the store deli), but most of it can be bought pre-made if you don’t want to prep.

We just bring a ton of snacks…pretzels, grapes, clementines, Babybel cheese, crackers, drinks. And just graze on that during adult swim.

I just didn’t want people suggesting things like pasta salad. Things I can assemble quickly or just grab and go.

We take a lot of impromptu trips to the pool. I typically bring a quick and easy lunch of sandwiches and crackers, but everyone quickly gets burnout. I’m looking for ideas for quick and easy things that I DO NOT have to prepare ahead of time. Again, DO NOT need to prepare ahead of time!

They’d have to be things I can buy ahead of time and keep in the fridge.

They have to keep in a cooler.

They need to be easy to eat poolside. (We do have access to a table and chairs and will be partially dried off.)

Even better if they are things they can pick at or snack on throughout the afternoon.
