Been a bunch of times and love it!

Take your car on the Cape May-Lewis ferry. Lots of things to do:

- West End Garage if you like cutesy shopping
- pedestrian mall downtown. Walk around side streets to see pretty Victorian houses.
- Cape May brewery near the airport
- Stroll on the boardwalk
- eat at Congress Hall
- lighthouse
- sunset at the sunset beach
- historic house/museum/trolley tours through Cape May MAC - https://capemaymac.org/
- Exit Zero gas station
- drive to Wildwood for some fun mid-century buildings and a totally different vibe

I don't think the Cape May ferry terminal is walkable to the town of Cape May where the boardwalk and Victorian houses are. We've always driven.

It’s not.

I bet they offer a shuttle

If it’s raining and you have little kids or any kids who like planes, the airport museum is pretty cool! It has a lot of planes and you can wander around.

Yes you take the ferry. You can buy your tickets ahead of time to make sure you get the time slot you want. Then you show up about 15 min before your time slot (or more - says the time on the ticket) and they load the cars on the ferry. Once loaded you can get out and walk around until it is time to off load - then you get back in your car.

Mad Batter for brunch / lunch.
Bike around looking at the pretty houses
Mini golf
Pedestrian mall browsing
Arcade on the beach

Note - you won’t want to do the beach itself. You need to buy a beach tag to go in it so just spend time exploring instead.

We take the ferry for the day, sometimes don't bring the car.

I recommend going to the beach, having brunch, doing a house tour, shopping on the main street.

To me, if I was spending two weeks in Rehoboth I would go to Cape May but, one week is short. I would go to Lewes DE instead or even cape Henlopen

Just my 2 cents

For those who did take a day trip to Cape May, can you explain the logistics? Did you take a ferry?

Delaware Botanic Garden - though more like a 1/2 day trip. Combine with a visit to the small Indian Head Lifesaving Station museum.

Dover - historic area downtown - take the guided walking tour
