Well known boarding schools usually are also well known to admissions people. Just understand that college admissions is a lottery for an unhooked student.

If the school has a formal policy in which number grades correspond to B+, A-, A, and so on, then the more usual practice is to convert each grade to the corresponding Letter and then to a 4.0 scale and then average.
