This is ridiculous. The only GPA that is a 4.0 is a 100%. So you need 100% in all classes for a 4.0.

Absolutely but at some point it becomes an exercise in strategy. I was reading the previous thread about Northwestern and Vandy and wondering if a kid like mine would do better Ed1 to Vandy and completely ignoring Northwestern (or a school like it) as he doesn’t have the stats.

Who knows? GPA is calculated by adding up and averaging the letter grades. If you want to turn a number average into a letter GPA then you need to see what each grade turns into and then average the letters.

Thanks all. Coming from a boarding school. He’s got high rigor across the board so hopefully colleges understand how difficult it is to get an A in some of these classes. He’s only gotten a few B’s that I can think of.

(0.9391 * 4.0) = 3.7564. So it is a 3.75 GPA
