If your child is at Jackson Reed - has a shot as these schools continue to look for diversity of Urban experiences.
Pick one and apply ED.

I think Vandy will be the hardest admit.

They would have a good shot at Emory, Tufts or WashU from our public for ED1/2. Vandy is much harder; even perfect scores are denied ED.

Taking Vandy out, what about the others? Decent shot at Wash U, Tufts, and Emory ED 1 & 2?

Good shot at these schools, but no guarantee. I would prob ED1 Emory, ED2 Tufts. Pray for a miracle and have a bunch of RD schools identified just in case.

For sure…we are spending the summer visiting only schools with 50%+ acceptance rates. DC has enough reaches…

my kid similar profile got in Vandy last year TO (lower scores than ur DC though) - essays were really well done, and teacher references were great - if you can package it up with those, Vandy ED is a real option. Kid absolutely luvs Vandy -

Why not Rice and USC?

Doesn’t want to be in Texas (though liked what they read about Rice)…hated the vibe of USC.

No, sorry, that was a typo. Decent shot ED1 at any of them because all three have an acceptance rate over 30 percent. Chose your favorite. ED2 is possible but much less likely.

Wash U will be the easiest to get in ED 1. It’s location is the least desirable

Best chance is ED1. ED2 acceptance rates pretty close to RD.
