I don’t want to denigrate their amazing achievements but to be top 4 in the world you need to make it to the finals at worlds. They weren’t in the finals or even the playoffs. They were in the top 4 to receive an inspire award which is extremely impressive.

Yes, i directly addressed that! Winning that award doesn’t make them one of the top 4 teams in the world. They are not ranked 4th in the world - they aren’t even in the top 50. But they are one of 4 teams to receive that award at worlds. That is impressive but it isn’t accurately described in the article.

DCUM is always so negative about travel based community service. Is what the kid who went to Uganda and Keyna to teach kids about robots an ok ETC for college apps? Or is it just considered another pay for service activity?
