What do you want to know? We have taken them to most of Europe, most of Americas, lots of Middle East and North Africa, East Asia, plus Australia and NZ. So many great places in this world, we go whenever we can.

We don’t travel. Spend a lot on kid activities.

We make $300k combined, but we have no kids, our home has been paid off since 2019, and just a 2022 car loan which has about 20k left.

We don't really have a budget for travel - but that's where I like my money to go. It's nothing crazy though - we typically do mid range stuff. We go on 2 international trips a year, with both of us getting 5-6 weeks PTO. I keep a separate savings account for very big vacations (next one is an Antarctica cruise). This year we are going to Ireland and Japan.

I WFH, live in a walkable community (so I'm hardly ever driving), I don't do designer clothing or purses (a huge change since my 20s when I was all about that).

I bought a Subaru for $30K, cash. No student loans; kids 529 funded for in state; retirement funded annually to the max (most important), and a bit of extra for emergency savings. Shop for clothing at the cheaper stores, especially the sales racks.

Rest goes to vacations.

We don't do expensive vacations every year, but when we do, it's about $20K for a family of four (teens).

We're about $275K and spend about $20K on travel every year. This number was about 25% less pre-pandemic. I think travel costs have increased a lot.

We are now at about 300k. We don't do expensive cars, we have reasonable housing costs, public schools etc. But we travel a lot. We don't really budget, just do it. It is what we value.

Travel is my one big expense. I do a spring break, summer break, Thanksgiving, and winter break vacation.

I’m single with a 14 and 17 yr old. I try to pay for airfare and hotels with points when I can.

Spring break this year was $8k to Belize
Summer is Europe—mostly on points so it’s going to be about 5k for food and activities
Thanksgiving is 7500 to Grenada
Winter is a western Carribean cruise for $6k

So this year, $26k

Our HhI is 250k. We have two teens, one going off to college soon. We have decent savings but are also paying back our student loans. Don’t have family money.

We tend to balk at travel prices. More likely to go to the beach than abroad. Have only left the country once since we have had kids. How do we save for college, retirement, house repairs, AND travel?
