Someone who wants the training of ECNL without the outrageous travel all over the USA (Texas, Washington, California) and lower ECRL costs the DR fits my DD perfectly.

This would be my ideal. Kudos.

this… even on the ecnl level have seen girls play/practice up for no benefit…. Then more parents scream why not my kid… and they get to play up
as well…. Which didn’t benefit the team

This is a good strategy and a good scenario.

You mean playing up a level, not playing up a year, right?

DR has worked for kids on my son's team. There are three, and they have played in different events- state cup, tournaments, and league games.

I'd be OK with placating if I didn't have to drive to NC! Roster doesn't seem to be huge. 18 maybe? However, they have one more year until high school which is when I assume kids start having more regular double obligations. I got a sense that it was more the RL Coaches style that fits my gal's play rather than the ECNL coach, who at least in the games we have seen is more go to goal. Do ecnl one game a day rules apply to ecnl r as well?

Ideally RL players should play up to ECNL when needed but it is hard when the ECNL rosters have 30 players. Like when do they need additional players? But I have seen a dual carded RL player play a few ECNL showcases and wonder how the extra rostered plays feel about that.

Personally RL has been great for our daughter. Great coaching, lots of playing time, good competition, etc…

Dual carding is a placation technique.

Likely placating you. You can check and see how many kids rostered on ECNL team. If they have 14/15 - maybe if some of them get injured. If they have 18 or more - highly unlikely. But you can push to have her practice with them regularly at least.

Maybe placating you. Is your 14g truly bigger faster and more skilled for her age and deserve to play up? Most coaches usually just put up w kids playing up. But at theECNL level they will probably be outplayed so badly it’s obvious and bad for your daughter’s development, it could cause a setback.

Other than that, it could be a numbers thing, if they are short on subs, then she might get called up.

My U14 G was offered 2nd team (ECNL-R) with the promise to dual card for ENCL. What is the reality of kids at this age in ECNL/ECNL-R and MLS Next/2nd team getting the call up to actual play, or are they just placating me because I have a couple kids in the program?
