We used Mindwell.

We used Children’s because it was the most affordable but this was a very long time ago. The neuropsych was Dr Sanz and I really liked her but I have no idea if she is still there. I thought she provided a very thorough and helpful report for my son.

I’ve heard someone in the field advise caution about the Stixrund group. Not trying to stir up trouble – – just saying to go in with your eyes open.

It was insane watching him try to write a math problem out—he would stop partway through, use completely random numbers, lose track midway through writing out a single digit and not be able to complete writing out a 6. But anyway, the testing did not show it, the neuropsych, who we trust, said it was all apparently attributable to adhd and slow processing.

Of course there may be more going on with your child but I share this in case it is helpful.

Meant to add it was a similar panel of tests at about the same age.

I'm a special education teacher. I've had parents bring me reports from different agencies, and one of the best reports I've received that was very thorough was from the Stixrud Group. Another good one was from the Chesapeake Center. I don't know costs or anything, but from the teacher side of things they both had good, thorough, psych, educational, and social-emotional/behavioral testing (as appropriate for the child).

The tests you mentioned do assess for dyslexia and dyscalculia. Are you sure that they didn't "test him" for those, or just that they didn't diagnose them? Regardless, there's a huge difference between first and seventh grade so a re-eval makes sense.

Dr. Rebecca Resnik and her team are great. Dr. Beth Anne Feldman, Dr. Rachel Venezia and others.

Back in 2018 they tested him with:

WISC-V
WISC-V: Spatial Span NEPSY-II Select Subsets
Beery-buktenica test of visual-motor integration, 6th edition
Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing
Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement
BRIEF-2
ADHD Rating Scale

We had the psychological evaluation in 2018 when he was finishing 1st grade. He's now finishing 7th grade and we plan to get a new pysch evaluation, but I want to make sure they test for these other items.

It is clear to me he may have more than ADHD happening. We had tutors for handwriting, reading, and math over the years. We spent almost 2 years with a 1-on-1 reading tutor for instance.

Depending on the age of your son, I recommend Maven Psychology Group.

What tests did KKI administer?

I am looking for recs on having my teenage child specifically tested for dysgraphia, dyscalculia and dyslexia. I already know he has ADHD-inattentive. We had him tested at Kennedy Krieger about 5 years ago and for some reason, they did not test him for those as well. I am trying to find a proper person who can test him for these and give me a written report so I can get accommodations etc in school. He is at a private school at the moment, not public.

If anyone can recommend a provider who they have used to test for these I would appreciate it.
